Single Color Screen Printing

Screen printing a single color onto a garment is the easiest form of screen printing. Typically, the artwork will be a simple design or even just text. Since it is only one color, only one screen is needed for the design. Going with a single color for your artwork is the most inexpensive route for your print.

Grayscale and Black & White Printing

Black and white go together perfectly because they complement each other. They are perfect in contrast to one another, which makes them a solid choice for screen printing. You can’t go wrong with a white T-Shirt and black ink (and vice-versa).

Multicolor Screen Printing

Some artwork requires more than one color to get the job done. For example: Maybe your artwork is very detailed and requires various colors or maybe you just need multiple colors to match your branding. This option can be more expensive because it is more complex, but the finished product will definitely impress. If you are designing with a budget, our Product Specialists can review your design and discuss color options to make sure your apparel meets your expectations and matches your budget.

Light Colors on Dark Apparel

Say you want to place an order for some black hoodies, but you can’t decide on an ink color that will stand out against such a dark color. You want your design to have a good contrast of colors so that your artwork pops. Our Product Specialists can review your design and help recommend the best colors to really make your apparel impress. Once the design colors have been selected, our screen printers will also use a technique called "underbasing" to add a foundation of white to the dark garment that will help enhance the colors of your design.

Vintage and Distressed Screen Printing

A vintage or distressed effect can make your design look retro.  Customers often like adding a distressed effect because it gives the design a rugged look, and creates the illusion that a shirt has withstood the test of time.  Distressed effects can be the perfect edition on things like band tees or throwback designs.

Full Color High Detail Halftone

Simulated process is a screen printing technique that can achieve a more photo-realistic print for designs with lots of detail or gradients. Photo-realistic designs are often created with DTG (Direct to Garment) printing, but we can also simulate the look of digital printing with screen printing using sim process. One advantage of sim process is the ability to use a small amount of colors to create the illusion of many. Contact our Product Specialists if this is technique you are interested in using for your order.

Screen Printing FAQs

Please reach us at designs@dosprintz.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a mesh screen to transfer ink onto a material, like fabric. Popular for customizing t-shirts, hoodies, and other pieces of apparel, screen printing produces a high-quality, long-lasting print.

In our experience, screen printing is the best option for larger orders, with simple images that use a limited number of colors.

We use plastisol, water-based, and discharge inks to screen print apparel. Plastisol is essentially a liquid plastic and the most widely used ink in the industry. Water-based inks are thinner, produce a softer feel, and have become increasingly popular. Discharge inks are water-based, but include an additive that can increase color vibrancy in some applications.

Our screen-printed apparel can be produced and shipped quickly within 15-20 business days from receiving all approvals. Rush shipping is available for an additional fee, we can deliver custom-printed tees as quickly as 6 business days and 5 days using our, standard shipping option.
